In the summer of 2018, work began on a script that would later be called unDEFILED. Through many, many revisions, the story would ultimately come to focus on the character of Mitch Jennings, an independent league baseball player looking to make a name for himself. However, Mitch's life takes a drastic turn after discovering a dark world that's been hiding right in front of him. Mitch's journey in the film is a gritty character study on identity, addiction, and worth.

My goal with the music in this film was to capture the deep layers of Mitch's character, all the way from his surface-level emotions to his inner, deepest, ugliest thoughts. My hope is that the score isn't just something to fill the background noise, but something that acts as an invitation into Mitch's world and his mind, hopefully allowing the watcher to know and understand Mitch on a deeply personal level. As Mitch grows in his journey, the music grows in maturity as well; as Mitch recedes into defeat, the music also recedes back into the deep caverns of his thoughts.

My absolute number one priority with any scoring project is creating lasting emotional connections, and this film is no exception. My hope is that the watcher is as invested in this story as much as I have invested musically in the story...
